A Trusted Partner for Plaintiff Attorneys

Gleason Settlements extends your team, shielding clients from financial risk, benefit loss, and tax exposure. Our mother–daughter fiduciary team brings 50+ years of experience and a sophisticated, empathetic approach, supported by Sage Settlement Consulting, the largest plaintiff-focused structured settlement firm in the U.S.

Tax-deferred financial solutions allow attorneys to defer taxes on fees while helping cover ongoing office overhead. By using tax-deferred structured settlements, attorneys can turn earned fees into guaranteed, reliable income streams. Periodic payments can support long-term goals, including retirement planning, operating expenses, employee compensation, and bonuses. Like the structured settlements you design for clients, these plans are flexible and tailored to your specific financial needs and goals.

Your clients get the guidance they need, and you receive the support to deliver strong results.

How We Support Your Practice

Protect Your Clients from Future Hardship

When you offer settlement planning services, your clients leave with a clear understanding of their options. By evaluating their financial needs, long-term goals, and required income, a comprehensive plan helps them make informed decisions, both now and in the future.

Reduce Post-Settlement Risk

Providing settlement planning services, along with proper documentation, helps limit future liability exposure.

Consider Grillo v. Pettiette et al.:
In 1982, Christina Grillo suffered a birth injury that resulted in quadriplegia, seizures, and blindness. Her care plan projected more than $20 million in lifetime medical costs. During litigation, the defense offered a structured settlement valued at $1.2 million, which would have paid out over $100 million over her lifetime.

That offer was declined. The case ultimately settled for $2.5 million in cash, based on recommendations from both the plaintiff’s attorney and Guardian ad Litem.

This case highlights the long-term impact of settlement decisions when planning is not fully explored.

Streamline Your Workload

Working with experienced settlement planners allows you to stay focused on your case strategy. The planning team handles the details, including explaining options, preserving public benefits, and building financial projections. You can stay as involved as you want, without carrying the full burden.

Improve Client Outcomes

A lump sum alone can be difficult to manage. A structured, well-designed settlement plan provides:

  • Reliable income when it’s needed

  • Protection of public assistance benefits

  • Potential tax advantages

Without a plan, large settlements are often spent quickly. With the right structure, they can support a client for life.
